Shrub identification?

Asked on 4 May, 2008

This shrub is in a particularly overgrown part of the garden of the house to which I've recently moved. It's tangled with ivy, over old tree stumps and in amongst other plants, so it's difficult to see the extent of it, but it seems to reach a height of around ten feet, with a spread of around twelve feet. The tiny leaves are holly-like, and the flowers first appeared about three weeks ago. It's in a south-facing garden and attracts bees (as I discovered when I ventured forth with my camera!). Thanks to anyone who can help me identify it.

You can cut it back after it has flowered if it's too big.
