how to look after

By Dreams

can anyone tell me how to look after a canna as I have been given two cutting one red and the other yellow looks rather nice but so I dont want to damage it by putting it in the wrong place in the garden.....

And thank you all for answering my last questions

Cannas are sunloving plants and thrive in hot, dry weather as long as water can be kept to the roots. They must not be allowed to dry out. In this country they're best grown in a large pot, so that they can be taken indoors for the winter. If you want to plant them in the garden, make sure you give them a good thick mulch to see them through winter. They respond well to heavy feeding. Cut back almost to the base or to ground level when flowering has finished Hope this helps.
