Probably nothing, not your fault. Assuming the tree looks healthy, and the blossom (if you had any) didn't wither and remain hanging on the tree, the most likely explanation is the random weather this year. Plums flower early and so are more vulnerable to late frosts anyway.

everyone I know with a plum tree including myself have no plums this year , everyone agrees, it the weather ,lets hope next years better
