What can I do if a variety is wrongly labelled?

I bought some lavender early 2008, did not flower in 2008, now flowering and they are obviously the wrong variety. I needed them to match some others and they are also too vigourous for the location. I have lost 2 years of growth - not happy.

There's not much you can do, unfortunately. If it's a reputable garden centre you could try complaining loudly, but you'd need the receipt, and after two years, you probably haven't got it. I guess you could try complaining vociferously in front of other customers - they might pay you to go away! Or give you other plants instead, after all, the squeaky wheel gets the oil...;-)
