How often should I water a Strelitzia reginae?

Hi:I just bought a Strelitzia reginae(already has 3 spike),can you tell me how often to watering it,and how often to feed it,which plant food is better(brand ),please.thank you.

My book says water thoroughly, then leave until the compost surface is dry before watering again. Water sparingly in winter. Mist occasionally. Use a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly. I can't recommend a brand, but you can buy various balanced liquid feeds.
