can u explain a strange growth on my forsythia bush. it comes up from a bottom stem and is 2ins wide like a fibrous belt. ball of leafs at top and leafs growing out of ""BELT"all the way up.thank you

Do you have a photo? Difficult to tell without, but you may be describing Phomopsis Gall a fungus that can infect Forsythia through wounds in bark and form swellings - galls.
