If I cut the top of a fresh pineapple will it grow?

Steragram if it wasn't for Steve giving me the info, I would still be thinking pineapples grow on trees.

have tried this and have no success, have grown dates,orange lemon and lime pips, but pineapple tops just curl up and die. If you succeed please tell me how

Joanii, I used to think that too until I saw some in Teneriffe.

Bob Flowerdew GQT says it can be done... but mine went mouldy
