My orchids roots are really weird and black...help!

I have a two phals and one is coming out of bloom and the flowers are drooping and shrivelling, however the exposed roots have trurned really black in places and have a lot of black dots on them. The leaves are fine and healthy is this normal or is it rot?

No, it's not normal. Have the roots been in water too long? They don't like that. I would cut some off, I think. Obviously you can't cut them all off, so leave the healthiest ones on.
