my so called blue/lilac rose has pink buds

staffordshire, United Kingdom Gb

ok so the new rose i brought has buds that have started to openslightly and they are pink. purchased from a reputable garden centre. not happy but dont want to dig it up so will leave it. how can i make sure that next time i get the correct rose? oris it a case of pot luck and hope they get itright next time

you should take a picture and go back to the garden centre and show them...

im new to all this but maybe they start off pink and then change as they grow?

just a thought

Yes, hang fire there.
Buds often look a different colour to the main flower. If your rose is blue/lilac then it has pink tones and may well change when it opens.

My Maigold's buds have a lot of deep red in them but the rose is yellow and another I have has deep maroon buds but open a crimson red.
