dahlia cactus

Hereford, United Kingdom Gb

hi again everyone, i recently planted some dahlia tubers that have just started coming though and was wondering if there was anything i need to do other than keep them water, also could people check my profile and give me some feed back of there thoughts, ill be updating them soon, thankyou in advance for any answers and comments

they can be thirsty plants so yes plenty of water. they will tolerate some light shade. are you planning to plant into the ground? if so bury the tuber about 6 inches deep. and in the autumn after they are blackened by frost cover the crown with a deep mulch. or you can lift them and keep them in a frost free storage.

if you are putting in a pot they will also need a decent soil depth. if it is a tall variety you will need to add plant supports too.

do you know the height they are supposed to get too? taller than 2ft you are better staking. i use the ring supports and once the foliage has grown through you cant see them.
