Pancratium maritimum bulbs

Asked by Hoya105 on 18 Feb, 2007

Has anyone experience of growing these in the UK?
I grew some from seed years ago and they are hanging on -but not thriving. I wondered if I should plant them deeper?

no practical experience Hoya, but info in my book says "plant deeply with at least 8 inches of soil above the bulbs". They also need well drained soil and a position sheltered from North and East winds. Protect in winter with a thick layer of mulch... coarse sand or bracken or weathered ashes! suggested.

Thanks - I don't think I've got them that deep, so I'll give it a try!
