Can a Fig tree survive in the North West of England-ie Lancashire

Where are you planning on putting this pot? In a conservatory or the garden? My own personal opinion is that a fig tree would not survive outdoors in Lancashire but I have no scientific evidence for this.

I have a Ficus bengladensis which is put outside from mid to late June and brought back indoors when the evenings/nights start to get cold.
I live in Co. Durham, N.E. England.
