Hello all, I have just lost my beautiful huge ceonothus tree, blew over, guess what garden open this weekend, big hole and squashed flowers, ugh!! can anyone recommend a smallish tree more upright than anything for my little garden, I will plant beneath so needs to be small. it will be nearish a liquid amber tree thanks.

I like Rowan and Amelanchiar [spelling? snowy mesilupis is another name for it] there is a lovely upright version, called Ballerina I think.

Amelanchier 'Ballerina' is what you mean, Seaburngirl - there's a new variety of that called Amelanchier 'Obelisk' which I think is much more upright. If you want something a bit taller than either of these gets (they get up to 13 feet) then go for Amelanchier lamarckii, at 33 feet.

How do I say thanks?
