can you split a perris plant established in large container?

Perris is quite large and flowers nicely every year too bushy for where I want to transplant it. Any tips?

I have just split a well established Pieris 'Little Heath', into several smaller plants and potted them up - so far so good!

Sorry Pieris is not a shrub you can split but you can prune it back in late summer early autumn and keep pruning it... we have one we need to do this to lol! You can try layering it to get a baby or three
