mt apple tree has a silvery residue on the leaves and it has not blossomed any ideas ?.

South Yorkshire, United Kingdom Gb

The tree is a jon ochord, may be spelt wrong

Hi Andy although not witnessed on an apple tree they can be suseptible to either Silver leaf or false silver leaf.

I have seen this more commonly on cherry and plum trees.

To identify snip off a length of affected branch and check whether you can see any brown staining running through it .This indicates silver leaf if the stem appears clean and healthy more likely to be false silver leaf.

I would recommend you check the RHS web site for treatment details as very informative and save me typing !

Think the variety may be Jonagold a golden delicious cross.
