Could you tell me what tree this is. It's in my daughters garden and I would love to buy one for my garden.

Might be a Birch.

Bit early to tell. Does it flower? Or have seed pods that you know of? It looks like it has been in a while...

Might be a Prunus (Cherry), but that would have blossom.

I am just guessing.. There will be someone who will know.

... A Salix perhaps? :)

Did it have yellow flowers early in the season? If it did, then it looks like Winter Hazel, Corylopsis pauciflora.

Thanks everyone. It doesn't flower, although from a distant it looks as if it's covered in yellow flowers. The leaves are small but beautiful.

it looks Hazel -ish. it will flower but it may be a catkin or very small and yellow/green. have a closer look for a small 3 thread like [middle part of a normal flower] stigma, this is a female flower. some trees are only female others only male.
