What do I do in the spring with my caryopteris incana bush--1 yr in the ground?

Do I prune these bushes I see new growth on two but one looks bare. The new growth is on the bottom of the established branches--planted last summer.

You can cut out the dead wood to improve its appearance. the bare one might still sprout from the bottom so dont give up on it yet.

welcome to GoY too.
