My pear tree has orange spots on the trunk , and it has no leaves on it yet it was just planted in October gone can you please help

Without a photograph, its hard to decide whether its Coral Spot, or resin exudation from canker, or whether there's some other cause. If its either of the 2 I've mentioned, its a goner, sorry.
