How do I pinch my sweet peas? LOL!

I read in an earlier post that someone suggested pinching their sweet peas. I planted some from seed and they're growing, but not much. What part of the plant do I pinch. And, can I cut it rather than pinch it?

When the plant has two pairs of proper leaves just pinch out the growing tip - you can do it quite easily with your thumb and forefinger if you have nails, or use small snips. This should encourage new shoots from the leaf nodes and give you bushy plants.
