pruning roses

I have a John Cabot rose ( climbing rose ) and I would like to know how much I need to cut it back in the spring.

Hi Judydianne, climbing roses should really be pruned in the Autumn cutting out older stems to encourage new growth from the base, Hope this helps Philip
