Hi Grannyrita and welcome to GoY. Well one thing your house plant most certainly isn't is a campanula! I would say one of the chrysanthemums but no idea which can you take a photo that shows the leaves as well? It seems to be in the plastic wrap it came in from the florist or garden centre and needs to be taken out of this.

Hi, thanks! The reason I was lookinh in Campanula. I was looking through all the C's, as the tag on the pot says it is a Calandiva, and I thought maybe it was a misprint or something. I also think it is a type of Chrysanthemum. as you will see from the leaves.

Definitely not Calandiva which is Kalanchoe blossfeldiana tags to get moved around as folk lift them out to read and put back in wrong pot...

welcome from me too. and yes its a Chrysanth. I do wish people would put labels back in carefully.
mind you may be amazed at the number of people who swop price labels round to save about 15p.

Many thanks for the help. The name tag was actually printed onto the bag for the plant, so I assume the error was at the packaging place. Good job I didn't take their advice on how to treat said plant! Any advice about what to do with an Amyrillis now it has flowered? I have cut the plant stalk back to two inches above the base and am waiting for the leaves to get bigger, but that is as far as I have got to? I grew it from a new bulb, and had four lovely flowers, and would really love to keep it going.

You might be better to ask this as a separate question - I have no idea about Amyrillis.

Feed the amaryllis until the leaves have grown and built up the bulb for next year. Let it dry off over the summer and keep it completely dry. If it starts to grow again in the autumn then begin watering again. Otherwise start watering a few weeks before you hope it will flower. Only repot if necessary as they prefer to be undisturbed. (I'm assuming that you mean the plant that used to be called amaryllis and is now known as hippeastrum)
