Not even my normal tulips are any further on than this, and they seem to have been in a state of suspended animation for weeks now. Maybe a slight variation in colour there, Poppylinda, but lovely, nonetheless.

These look stunning even before they fully open up. Its a shame you are dissappointed but I think you will find they are worth waiting for. The weather has not been kind to our Spring flowers this year. I see they are Taylors. I have to laugh because I tried emailing them with a complaint because bulbs I bought in a GC not local to me were covered in a mould. I have had no response. I paid the full price. They say their products are tested to the highest standards but I too am disappointed in them.
Even taking different cameras giving different quality of colour reproduction it seems to be stretching the imagination to believe yours might resemble the picture on the packet. I stand to be corrected please do add a photo when they come out.

I would wait a week or so yet as they are April too May flowering and they look as I would expect at this early stage as its only the edges that are white in Tulipa Horizon.

LOL Bilbobaggins what secret urge made you buy those and are we about to discover your secret. On 13th April Karensusan did a blog on the meaning of flowers. Tulips pink - caring, red -declaration of love, white - forgiveness, yellow - hopelessly in love, and purple - royalty. Now then reveal all - what colour tulips did you choose. She did wonder if there was any basis in fact for the Victorian interpretations so maybe you can help her solve the conundrum.
