will cut grass kill my lawn underneath

long grass is ok to cut down with a stimmer but dont wip it to death. use the mower for areas it can cut. picking up cut grass is neater. gardens should be tidy or whats the point. I find leaves left in the garden will kill the grass.not too sure about cut grass. councils dont pick up cut grass and it grows ok.hope this helps

If the grass was very long when you gave it it's cut it is better to clear it off at this time of the year. Cut frequently if you want a nice lawn from now on but never less than half an inch, if you cut lower you are more likely to end up with bare patches .
