Growing rosemary from seed

Last year I managed to get only a few seeds of Rosmarinus officianalis to germinate. I overwintered them and planted them out this spring. I'm hoping to have more success this year, growing from seed - any tips, ideas, etc? I know it's much easier to grow from cuttings but I want to do it from seed first and then propagate cuttings later in the year.

Tried seed rosemary once, but resorted to cuttings, as germination rate very poor. Hope you do better!!

they hail from the med region so free draining, full sun are preffered sites. they may get attacked by rosemary beetle so keep an eye out for that.
