why do i get a crust of moss on my seedlings

after i have planted my seeds when they start to grow i get a crust of moss over the compost

youve probably put them in a damp area, without much air circulation
Or maybe somewhere there was already moss and the spores are still around

Use a soil based seed compost, don't over water and propogate at a higher temperature.
