My Dorycnium Hirsutum 'Little Boy Blue' has grown really well, in fact I have three planted together in my front gravel garden, and they are roughly twice the size that they were in this photo. It seems to love it here, but since the gales it has been somewhat battered. I would like to know if it would be ok to cut it back to rejuvenate it, but I can't find any information about this on the Web.

The only reference I can find says 'shear back the plants after blooming by 2-3 inches'.

I don't know this plant, but going on a hunch, and with what bamboo says I would leave well alone at this time then give it a good trim after flowering. You could remove and tidy up any broken stems after the frosts.
