When do i split primulas>

I have done mine this week even though they are in bloom as they were getting a bit too croweded.

Preferably they should be lifted and divided as soon as they have flowered. You could probably do them whilst in flower without much harm but you will lose a lot of the effect of this years flowering.

i usually split mine after flowering or in the case of P denticulata usually autumn or very early spring before flowering.
