In my large water feature i have a marginal plant by the name of Equsetum Hyemale growing beautifully but now grown to tall can I cut it down what will happen will new sprout and cut down die off, perhaps someone out there in Growsonyou Land can advise please.

You can also divide it/reduce it in width in the spring.

Hello, I do not grow Equsetum Hyemale myself, but investigated it last weekend as it looks quite architectural and I was thinking of using it as a type of screen. Getting back to your question, you can prune them and that will stimulate new growth - it will actually make the plant stronger by pruning it.
