unknown plant with illness

This question is on unknown
This pant was doing alright indoors and grew to about 5ft tall. It then developed a white mould, particularly on the stalks. Last month I pruned it right down and changed the compost and washed the root system and repotted it. It has sprouted new leaves but the mould still persists. What is the name of the plant and what should I do about the mould?

Is it a Begonia Rex? Looks badly affected by whatever it's got. Hope it doesn't infect any other plants. I'd be inclined to cremate it if it doesn't recover quickly after treatment.

Not sure about the plant, but the mould could be woolly aphid rather than fungus. Try dabbing ti off with a cotton bud dipped in methylated spirits. Otherwise try a systemic insecticide.
