Hi Stilldiggin and welcome to GoY - where do you live in the States, it does make a difference as to how we answer you.

Sorry I should have stated I live in the uk in the south of England so it does get cold in winter time.
many thanks for your reply,

YOu might want to alter your profile so that the US flag isn't shown next to your name...
I just checked these Crystal lilies - I see they're reasonably new, and Thompson & Morgan, who market these, suggest, if they are in pots, move them to a frost free place over winter, and if in the ground 'in milder areas, lilies survive in the ground so long as it isn't waterlogged' otherwise they suggest lifting, cleaning and storing them somewhere frost free. In the south of England, in a sunny, sheltered spot in normal garden soil, they should survive untouched.

They certainly look interesting Bamboo... not for our garden, obviously, but I'm sure they will work for a lot of other folk.

Since they are a variety of Oriental Hybrid Lily, you might want to plant one pot out in the garden to see how they do. The south of England should certainly be warm enough to keep the bulbs alive, as long as they have good drainage.

They look interesting MG - but I'm not at all in favour of flowers which do not have pollen, I'm afraid.

In general I'm not either but so many people seem to have concerns around lily pollen - all our species lilies have pollen and we collect the seed to share with other Scottish Rockers.

Scottish Rockers? Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but that immediately conjures up an image of you and Bulba roaring off on Harley Davisons kitted out in leather and studs...
I think the concern with lily pollen is something to do with cats, but more usually, the fact that it stains clothing.

Scottish Rock Garden Club - lol at the thought of Bulba and I in motorbikes, though we both used to ride.

How do I say thanks?
