Mahonia cuttings
I have a large mahonia charity which needs pruning, my daughter would like a cutting. Can I try to get one to grow from the younger growth I prune?

Answers
Buy another for your daughter ,she would have to wait a few years for good flowering, there are other very good Mahonia more interesting than Charity.

Hi Tigerlily yes suppose technically possible but have always found
Mahonia charity to be relatively inexpensive to purchase esp as a small plant. Now a good time to purchase as finished flowering ie cheaper and about to sprout new growth.Your daughter could be waiting a while for a cutting to develop.
