Daffodils don't force in water well, though some other species of Narcissus do. Even if these are actually the other Narcissus, they will only force once in water, and then need to be grown in soil outdoors for 2-3 years to regain their strength before being forced again. If they have been in dry storage since last winter, the bulbs are also likely to be dead.
