Ohhhh.... yeah... one last thing.
Can you grown a rambling rose in a large pot....or would that be cruel and it needs to be in the ground ? I would like something very flowery to grow round my front door but it is all concrete and paviers...
Have a rose do I pot it or pot it not ?

In short, no. A rambling rose of any size needs to be in the ground - if you wanted just a small rose, such as a miniature, that would be okay in a pot.
