Hi there I have been given several dahlias & chrysanthemums in pots. I have no idea how to care from them now the stems are going black. Kerri

The Dahlias need to come out of the pots - cut back all the foliage, wrap the tubers in newspapers till March/April, keeping them damp time to time.

Chrysanthemums - some can be kept outside, placed in a border, and left to come next year and some are non-hardy and need to be kept inside.

The dahlia tubers must be kept frost-free, too.

I use stand my Dahlias on end to let them drain before putting in newspaper in the dark garage. This year I am leaving them in the ground. Are your mums Annuals?

How do I say thanks?
