I bought this plant as part of a selection of alpines today at local GC...it was labelled as Rosularia platyphylla, however, after trying to find more information about it the images I am seeing on internet look nothing like the plant I have bought....any help on ID please

Certainly not Rosularia platyphylla, Scottish. Rosularia are very much like sempervivums and this is certainly NOT. ( i wrote a sentence after this making a suggestion but it was rubbish) Don't know what this plant is.

... it's pretty though!

Doesn't even look like an alpine... Customers frequently pull labels out of pots to read them and then put them back in other pots.

I have one of these and it creeps over a wall or the garden. Can't remember the name at the moment, bit like aubretia. Has white flowers on stems early in year, and you have to watch that it doesnt revert back to plain green. Will see if I can find the name, might be in my photos.

I have it in my photos as Arabis, if that helps at all.

I have seen this labelled as Arabis, too. It's difficult to gauge the scale from the pictures, but the leaves look maybe a little bit big to me. Very pretty.

It is Arabis procurrens 'Variegata', very hardy and I think good looking. Good for ground cover.

Thank you Kildermorie - that's useful to know. How much of a thug is it? I have spent days, weeks and months trying to get rid of Vinca in my garden because it has just overgrown everything, and I don't want to repeat a "Useful groundcover" mistake. Sorry to hijack your question Scottish - it just looks such a pretty plant.

Grow to about 50cm in diameter

That's certainly containable, Mg, and better than whole rockeries full, and roots that run very deeply. Thank you.

Yes not madly invasive.

It's Arabis ferdinandi-coburgi variegata. I know, I've just planted 4 recently... good spreader, retains its leaves in winter.

thank you very much everyone -
Bulbaholic and Sheilar - thanks
Moongrower - there was lots of them in the alpine section, obviously someone has put the wrong labels on them all.
Cinderella, thank you, I will go have a look at your pic when finished posting here. How do I keep it from reverting to green?
Gattina...hijack away! Ive done that myself...it is a lovely looking wee(?) thing. I bought it to grow over the edge of a large container.
Kildermore...thank you, it does look good
Bamboo....thank you - I had hoped it kept it's leaves, it looked like it would which was why I picked it up in the first place.
Thank you all again!

You just have to keep an eye on it Scottish, and if you see some plain green then cut it out.

I'll do that...thanks again :)
