In May this year, following the instructions on the package, I placed a codling moth pheromone trap in my Bramley apple tree hoping to eradicate the grubs eating into most of the apples. Unfortunately nothing has changed with this year's crop. Any advice please?

I can remember reading you have to clear away the dead moths from the trap - can't remember why but if you contact the company you got it from (google it) or I use Ladybird Plant care via the web and they should be able to help.

Thank you Bamboo and Cammomile for your advice. I will remove any dead moths regularly next year and it does seem the apples have both codling moth and sawfly damage!

How do I say thanks?
