hi there, i aquired some peony seeds the other day and i was wondering when the best time to plant them would be?

Are we talking tree peony, the large black pea like seeds, if so then i have propagated these with good success, i have planted these aprox 2/3 inch below soil in pots and leave through the winter, so that they are naturally weatherd, this helps germination.
