How do i take a cutting from magnolia stalata

You,re a little late to take cuttings this year, they should be taken in july, but for reference, take 4" heel cuttings of half ripe shoots, put them in a propagator in coarse sand at 21deg c, when they,re rooted pot them up into 3" pots and overwinter in a cold frame, then put them in a nursery bed for 2 or 3 years, then plant them out in their permanent positions.
Unless you want quite a few of them, it hardly seems worth the effort
you can also layer them in march or april, but they can take up to 2 years to root.derekm
