Is this the norm?

I have a Hamelia Patens (Fire Bush) that has been in the sunroom all winter (not Heated) and it is stems and hard black berries. Is this the norm for this time of yr? What can I do to bring it back to the beauty it was? All answers would be so appreciated

a website called plantanswers.com has a lot of info on this plant. It looks beautiful from the photos, so I can see why you want to keep it.
