COULD ANYONE PLEASE IDENTIFY THIS PLANT, IT GREW IN ONE OF MY HOUSE PLANT POTS IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS,IVE HAD THE HOUSE PLANT FOR YEARS & THIS HAS JUST APPEARED, AT NIGHT TIME THE LEAVES FOLD INWARDS & IT LOOKS LIKE A TWIG IN A POT

The foliage looks mimosa-like, i'd be inclined to google that for some images that might match.

QUITE SURE THEY WERE FLOWERS BUT ARE NOT THERE NOW BUT I WILL TRY AND GET A PIC IF THEY APPEAR AGAIN.

Have you tried very gently touching the plant, just one finger.

Don't think it's Mimosa pudica (Sensitive plant) as this has branched leaves, ie forking.

Could be a related legume though, quite probably one of many, many Acacia's.

Looks rather like a Albizia julibrissin seedling - common name Persian Silk Tree. I have one coming along nicely.

Gaz. As its leaves close up at night I think it could be Delonix Regia, Royal Poinciana, Acacia Roja. Take a look online for more info. also tap into Goy at the bottom of the page on 'D' to check up!
