Next year grow your cabbages under small mesh netting which will keep the butterflies off. No butterflies, no caterpillars!

You pick the caterpillars off by hand and stomp on them. Easy! Wear gloves if you don't fancy handling them. Anyone with chickens could feed the caterpillars to them.
