Many thanks Marion! I have looked up Alstromeira and it seems that is indeed what the are and they are well known for long vase life.

I think they might be alstromeira, but I didn't manage to find it on the RHS website's plant finder

Yep Marion is right Alstroemeria and 10 days is about right, if you change the water and recut the stems every 2-3 days sometimes they will go a couple of weeks.
