Not enough water - too much water - not enough fertilizer/feed.

You asked this question yesterday and got much the same answer. In a nutshell, runner beans like to get their roots in deep and to get their roots into lots of water and food - they're hungry & in the ground can get what they need. They're not great subjects for growing in tubs and you'll need to keep them watered and fed well to get anywhere with them.
