I have some oak saplings (about 4/5 years old).
I have recently noticed that some of them have pink/red nodules under the leaves. These appear to be attached into the veins of the leaves with what looks like little needles. Can you please give any advice.

they are leaf galls. it is the plants response to a sap sucking insect. the new leaves next year will be fine until they get 'bitten' again.

oaks also get a gall that look like dull beige sequins, a leaf gall called 'spangles'

How do I say thanks?
