Have what seems to be an ants nest in my sun beam toms just starting to turn red any suggestions on how to get rid with out losing the plant

Try ant powder in a puffer bottle. You don't want to spray anything relly. Wash tomatoes well before eating. Check also, for aphids, as ants 'milk' them for honeydew.

Make sure that it is a garden ant powder--the household kind is often boric acid, which can be toxic for plants. I would use diatomaceous earth, even though it is slow acting.
