It sounds like the Acer needs more watering and feeding. Keep it out of direct afternoon sun and any strong wind. A combo of all these will help.

Easter have you still got your acers in the pots they came in? Lidl is unlikely to have them in big enough pots... So either repot or, better still plant in the ground if you can. Need acidic to neutral soil, semi-shade and really don't like wind.
