Hello Ethel,
Can you tell us where you are in the country, North or South and if you are in the town or country.

Hello Ethel,
Cut the stalks down to about 6ins. Clean off any dead leaves. They will live in a cool greenhouse. Cover with fleece or newspaper in cold weather. Water sparingly.
In March the new growth will start, you could take cuttings, but they will still grow from the stool.
If you have no greenhouse, cover with a cloche and do the same.
