I would like to plant a Rhododendron 'Christmas Cheer' does any one know how big it gets and is it quite easy to grow?

It's a large rhododendron, reaching 2 metres high by the same wide, so if you've got a large patch of acidic, moist soil to fill in dappled shade, it'll be perfect.

Actually, I would say that Bamboo is slightly small on size. I am thinking about one at Brodie Castle which is taller than me - say 3m and possibly a bit more. It is an old bush.

I would add that rhododendrons are easy to grow if you have neutral to acidic soil, they don't like an alkaline soil at all. At the size Christmas Cheer is going to grow to you can't have it in a container either.

Yea, I should have said 2 m x 2m after 20 years...

Thanks for the info, I think it might be a little to big for my garden. Do you now of any other plant that is eye caching and flowers in December time?

Eye catching and flowering in December, can't think of a single thing that fits that bill. If you had a male and female skimmia, the berries on the female could be eye catching.

How do I say thanks?
