It does seem a bit early for flowering, mine in the garden are only about 2 ft and we only tranferred some to the allotment yesterday...bit early to be worrying about the flowers.

No it might encourage bees but not flowers. You don't say where you are in the UK but wouldn't expect ours to flower for several weeks yet.
