Hello All
Can anyone please recommend a plant supplier of alpine plants suitable for the Scottish climate as I wish to create an Alpine bed on a small sloping site.
Thank you

hi Susanrose - I would strongly recommend Kevock Garden Plants who are just south of Edinburgh, specialise in Alpines and who also do mail order. They have had some great displays at gardening Scotland - Gold Medal standard if I remember right. They have a great website at: www.kevockgarden.co.uk. We have a gorgeous little trough we planted up with Alpines from there last year.

I can add Ron McBeath's nursery to the list, fabulous plants and a smashing man too. There are probably more decent alpine nurseries in Scotland than the rest of the British Isles put together!

Hi Owdboggy - don't know Ron McBeath's nursery - do you have contact details? Always keen to check out new places.

Hi Susanrose - have you looked at the RHS Plant finder? Here's the website. http://rhs.org.uk/Plantfinder/plantfinder.asp You can use the 'find a Nursery' link to find a specialist Alpine Nursery, or type in a particular plant you want and go that route which may give you more results nearer to your home. Good luck.
